My goodness, I was tired. As a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse, I thought I had a leg up on the whole parenting thing until I had my son and all of a sudden no one slept. We were running on fumes and cuddles. For a while, my husband and I accepted that this was our new parent fate, but eventually we knew there had to be a way back to sanity and sleep. Inspired by my extensive background in research, I started to dive into everything I could find on pediatric sleep.
The problem I found? There seemed to be a MILLION different techniques, opinions, and contradictions. I was so overwhelmed. How would I know what was right for my son? What if I made it worse? How long could we handle this? Thankfully, after some trial and error, I was able to find the magical combination and now my son is a superstar sleeper, but this inspired me to to learn more and help others in a similar position.
